Monica Nevi is an ex-collegiate basketball player turned nationally touring comedian. Monica opened for comedians like Michael Ian Black, Ari Shaffir, Sarah Colonna and Nick Swardson among many other impressive names and has performed in the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, 208 Comedy Festival, Limestone Comedy Festival, Bumbershoot Music and Arts Festival and the Seattle International Comedy Competition. She also has a new album “Mostly Finger Guns” available now for pre-order and releasing 10/30!

Monica drops by to talk with Stephen about:
-How Monica got into comedy after getting injured playing college basketball.

Josh Blue is an extraordinary comedian that WON Season 4 of NBC’s Last Comic Standing in 2006 and 5 specials that have released on Showtime, Comedy Central, Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon.

He was the first comedian to perform stand-up on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, was named Best Winning Reality Show Guest on Live with Regis and Kelly, and his story has been featured on Fox, CBS, ABC, MSNBC,  and CNN.

Josh does over 200 shows a year, continuing to spread laughter and break down stereotypes of people with disabilities. His stand-up routine is in a constant state of evolution and his off-the-cuff improvisational skills guarantee that no two shows are alike.

Josh joins Stephen to talk about:
-His start in comedy at an open mic in between a slam poet and a songwriter.
-What it’s like to mix comedy and music through his experience opening for The Lumineers.
-Josh’s approach to comedy, including learnings from past shows, not writing anything down, and reading the room to add comedy decor like one-liners, callbacks, and more..
-How Josh’s self-awareness and ability to see how his audience sees him allows him to work with and mess with his them.

Rafinha (or Rafi) Bastos is an international comedic icon.
The New York Times named Rafi “The Most Influential Person on Twitter” in 2011. He even beat the Dalai Lama (suck it, Lama!).
He’s a pioneer of standup in his country and Joe Rogan called Rafi the Lenny Bruce of Brazil on the Joe Rogan Experience.
